Smeagol, also known as Gollum was actually once a hobbit! You probably don't believe me... Anyways, I couldn't really find an accurate picture of him, but I suppose this one's pretty close. Bilbo stole the ring from Gollum many years ago and the creature still pines for it. Gollum's mind was turned to evil and ruin by the power it held over him, throughout the first book he stalks the Fellowship and in the second he is tamed by Sam and forced to guide the hobbits through Mordor.
